About the Product

We carefully nurture the precious Koutaroumomo —a specialty of Shodoshima—at our Inoue Seikoen orchards.


These plums are exceptionally rare because they are labor-intensive to grow and there are only a few producers left. At Inoue Seikoen, we lovingly tend over 50-year-old trees planted by our second-generation owner, Katsuyoshi, and this year we were able to harvest only a small amount. We hope you’ll experience the delicious taste of this increasingly scarce “precious fruit.”





Koutaroumomo Jam — Description



Koutaroumomo plums


This jam is made by bringing out the natural tartness of the Koutaroumomo.


It is a simple yet deeply flavorful jam, simmered from whole fruit. Its brilliant ruby color shines beautifully, and you can enjoy the refreshing tartness and rich depth of flavor as if eating freshly picked plums.




Harvest and processing

The season for Koutaroumomo lasts only two weeks.

These plums ripen very quickly, and the window in which they can be enjoyed at their best is just two weeks each year. We remove the pits by hand and take great care in every step from harvesting to bottling.

Inoue Seikoen 's farm in Shodoshima which is located in the Seto Inland Sea and surrounded by vast expanse of nature. There are more than 3,200 olive trees and 14 kinds of citrus grown with great care in the farm.
