INOUE SEIKOEN’s Best-Selling “Beauty Olive Oil” — Our First-Ever Aroma Blend

For over 80 years on Shodoshima Island in Kagawa, Japan, we have grown olives and citrus and handled everything from cultivation to processing and sales.
In 1970, we began producing cosmetics in-house, and for more than 50 years, beauty and skincare products have been one of our core offerings.

Among them, Beauty Olive Oil is a long-loved favorite.
It was inspired by a childhood memory of our owner, Inoue, whose mother applied olive oil to soothe his rough, dry skin.
Since then, we have continued research and improvements to refine its quality.

Beauty Olive Oil “Yuzu” is our first-ever “aroma blend” product, created by adding essential oil from Japanese-grown plants to our Beauty Olive Oil.
It can be applied directly to the skin—while olive oil helps protect and condition the skin, the gentle yuzu aroma is often associated with relaxation and a calming moment for the mind.
A product our owner had long hoped to create has finally become a reality.

The First Beauty Item from the “Japan Good Farm Network”

The Japan Good Farm Network is an initiative born from the connections our owner, Inoue, has built through farming on Shodoshima.
By shining a light on crops grown with care—shaped by each region’s unique climate, culture, and seasons—we aim to rediscover the value of agriculture and the beauty of local communities across Japan.

Since the project began in 2024, we have worked with farmers nationwide to create foods such as confit and jams made from seasonal fruits and vegetables, finished with INOUE SEIKOEN olive oil, and these have been well received.
The newly released Beauty Olive Oil “Yuzu” is the first beauty product in this initiative.

Discovering “Kito Yuzu” from Tokushima’s “Yuzu Golden Village”

Yuzu is a uniquely Japanese citrus that has become popular worldwide.
Among them, Kito Yuzu is known for its exceptionally rich, distinctive aroma—making it an ideal variety for those who truly enjoy fragrance.

The Kito area is considered the birthplace of yuzu cultivation in Japan.
Behind that history lies the dedication of many local residents who worked tirelessly to develop yuzu farming in a region with limited industry.
With abundant rainfall and dramatic day–night temperature differences, people have continued to grow yuzu with great care.
Today, Kito Yuzu is sometimes described as one of Japan’s finest.
This beauty oil was born from our encounter with the growers known as “Yuzu Golden Village.”

Because we have lived alongside olives for so long, we believe there is something special we can share about the appeal of olive oil.
At the same time, the amount of olives harvested on our small island is naturally limited.
That is why we also focus on carefully selected, high-quality olive oil from Andalusia, Spain.

Oil extracted from olives nurtured by warm sunlight and rich soil spreads smoothly—just a single drop can leave the skin feeling comfortably moisturized.

Beauty Olive Oil That Feels Close to the Skin’s Natural Oils

The secret behind olive oil’s comfortable “moist” feel lies in oleic acid triglycerides, a naturally occurring moisturizing component also found in the skin’s own sebum and even in breast milk.
When applied, olive oil forms a light veil on the skin, helping to keep moisture in.

High-quality olive oil is also known for its emollient properties, helping skin feel softer and more supple.
Massaging it into areas that tend to become dry, such as elbows and heels, can leave the skin feeling smoother and more comfortable.

Blended and Filled at Our Factory on Shodoshima

At our own factory on Shodoshima, we blend olive oil with yuzu essential oil that is steam-distilled from pesticide-free yuzu.
When you place a drop on the skin, the olive oil spreads gently while a sweet, refreshing yuzu aroma rises softly.
It can be used not only on the face, but also on hair and the body.

How to Use

For the Face

After cleansing, apply lotion/toner to hydrate and prepare your skin.
Then smooth the beauty oil over your entire face and leave it on overnight.

Recommended amount per use: 1–2 pumps

The fresh yuzu aroma helps create a relaxing moment in your daily routine.
The combination of yuzu and olive oil gently conditions the skin and supports a healthy-looking appearance.
It helps protect against dryness and leaves the skin looking firm and radiant.
With its light texture and smooth absorption, it is also suitable for daytime care.

For the Hair

After washing your hair, apply a small amount to the ends.
Dry with a hair dryer to help your hair feel moisturized and neatly in place.

It helps protect hair from dryness and heat styling, leaving it looking glossy and smooth to the touch.
Citrus ingredients have also been traditionally appreciated for helping maintain a comfortable scalp condition and balance.
